Hi there! I’m Casey, a Registered Dietitian, farmers market fanatic, aspiring fitness warrior, and creator of Club Nutritious. I get excited about the arrival of warm, fuzzy peaches at the farmers market, and I find there is no better occasion to dig into a nourishing and fluffy veggie omelette than after a sweaty run or spin class. I believe food, nutrition, and fitness should be simple and fun additions to your routine allowing anyone to become a healthier individual for life.

Club Nutritious was created as a welcoming community grounded in acheiving personal wellness- however that looks for you. I do not believe in a “one size fits all” approach to achieving health goals, but rather an individualized process where you and I learn through collaboration what works for your body, and how I can help you develop simple, sustainable habits on your journey to improve your health.

My approach to food and nutrition centers around a non-diet, whole food way of eating that emphasizes that food is more than just nutrients, it’s an experience that deserves to be enjoyable and fun. I aim to help clients also incorporate essential tools of success into their eating habits, such as mindful and intuitive eating, gaining kitchen confidence, creating a supportive food environment, and building meal planning skills. While this is my overarching philosophy, I have extensive experience working with clients managing a chronic disease or other medical condition, such as diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol, heart disease, kidney disease, and gastrointestinal discomfort, and so am mindful to priotize medical nutrition therapy for your condition first and foremost.

As a busy, working adult I get that making changes to your eating habits seems like enough work already, but I also know the value that moving your body, sleep, and stress management have on your health as well. I was the person who hated running for fitness and went to workout because ” I should”, yet when I found my personal rhythm and felt more strength, joy, and pride from moving my body I knew there was no turning back. I’m a firm believer that anyone can become their own version of a fitness warrior, which I feel translates into a more positive lifestyle overall.

If you’re ready to think differently about food, improve your health, and most importantly have fun while feeling your best, I want to welcome you to Club Nutritious. I look forward to working with you on your wellness journey!

A little more about Casey…

Simple, yet flavorful and nourishing foods were always a part of Casey’s childhood growing up in the Midwest. Combined with Casey’s involvement in sports, a zest for healthy living formed. After completing a bachelors in Nutrition & Food Science from the University of Vermont, Casey immersed herself in the food and public health nutrition culture of New York City. She went on to obtain a Masters degree in Nutrition and Public Health from Teachers College Columbia University, and is now a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist conducting one-on-one and group nutrition counseling and education on a variety of conditions at a group of non-profit outpatient primary care clinics in NYC.

Casey is adept at communicating sound nutrition and health information to her patients and the public. By examining evidence based research, she is able to effectively communicate nutriton recommendations in English and Spanish, through writing, speaking, and creating educational materials. She has consulted with an international nutrition communications group, helping food manufacturers and health companies tell their stories. Casey’s articles on health and wellness have been featured in The Stone Soup,  a publication of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, and she has lent her thoughts as a dietitian to stories featured on websites such as The Daily Meal and Brit + Co.

Casey loves to cook and enjoys being in the kitchen and around the table with family and friends. When not testing out new recipes, you can find Casey training for her next running event or on her head at a yoga studio. Casey lives with and travels the globe with her once vegetable-averse turned foodie husband.

Hi I was a Business and Finance major and a banker for 17 yrs. when I had my 3 rd child I decided to follow my passion for Nutrition and therapy and I am in the process in getting my Health and Life coach certification. Do you ever work with this type of partner? If so how does this work?

Hello there! First off, thanks for stopping by :) Congratulations on pursuing your passion and obtaining a certification in this area. I can’t say I’m familiar with the Health and Life Coach Certification, nor have I partnered others in that space. If you’re like to discuss this offline, feel free to send me an email through the contact page!
